Manufacturing/Operations – One of the most critical needs we now have at SpaceX is for Manufacturing/Operations engineers. With two vehicles flight proven, we have a $3 billion backlog of sold flights. The next critical phase is proving our ability to build rockets with increasing speed while maintaining quality in order to meet the markets high demand. We are looking to add manufacturing engineers throughout the company.
Responsibilities
- Analyzes the Visual Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system for order release signals and planned orders to determine the release of work orders to meet the Master Production Schedule and manufacturing delivery commitments.
- Reviews status and estimated commitment dates of material and detail parts from Manufacturing Control and Buyers to support the timely release of work orders to support ERP schedules along with resolving any constraints in the release of work orders by collaborating with Manufacturing Control, Manufacturing, Planning, Engineering, Inventory, and Procurement.
- Analyze shortages and fulfillment dates
- Develop and maintain weekly visibility on kit release schedules
- Attend and support weekly shortage meetings
- Collaborate with other departments to break any hold factors in support of late kit releases
- Focal point for make part planned orders
- Participate in make order rules (yield, attrition, lot size, period of supply, lead-times)
- Work exception reports/error messages
- Determine work around options as required
- Firm plan orders as required
- Support of data integrity in ERP, metrics and audits
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Planning
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP experience required
Preferred Skills
- APICS certification desired
- 5 years MRP/Production Control experience desired
- Analytical and written skills
- Microsoft applications a must
- Interpersonal communication skills
